Graphic Surgery

Starting from a traditional topographical map of Amsterdam, Graphic Surgery’s work connects all the important places and events in their lives within it. Places of importance were all noted (from studio locations to houses lived, permanent mural spots to exhibition locations), their varying importance denoted by the depth of each line. Also incorporating the ‘three crosses’ of Amsterdam(representing the three dangers of fire, floods, and the Black Death), the saltires here also depict the Northern, Central, and Southern parts of the city.
