MOMO’s map is a visual reproduction of a performative act. Recording the production of one of the world’s longest tags, the map marks out the route of an eight-mile long, yet ultra-fine drip of paint, a rivulet spelling out each letter of his name in a single continuous movement. Just like every tag one encounters in the street, MOMO’s map can hence be understood as a physical residue of a complex movement, denoting a past action, a past gesture, embedded into the city’s surface.
