For SAEIO, graffiti is a formal reality, a commitment in the world closely linked to freedom. Open and genuine, its spontaneity and its radical nature thwart traditional rules and codes, allowing him to reach towards a new approach to painting. His thought process sees graffiti as a pictorial practice, abolishing the border between art and life whilst opening up a field of tension rich in paradoxes.

SAEIO recently transitioned his practices and ideas into an institutional context. The paradox of this passage of illegality to legality, from the street to the museum, from the crowd to a public, collective to the individual, feeds new questions and lines of research that generates new visual inventions. The work proposed for Venturing Beyond, Nolens Volens, is the most significant representation of this transition.
