Artist, designer and illustrator, Stefan Marx’s output is renowned in whichever sphere he lays his hand to. As resident designer at Smallville, Marx has designed covers for Playhouse, Mule Musiq and Endless Flight, in what have proved to be some of the most celebrated releases of the last five years. Never restricting himself to one medium, his signature style has appeared on skateboards, t-shirts, books, sculptures and of course record covers. It was skateboard culture which was the biggest influence on a young Marx; designing t-shirts from a young age, in 1995 he started Lousy’ Livin, a clothing label steeped in skateboard culture which has subsequently allowed Marx to collaborate with the wider skate community. Showing recently in Ruttkowski Gallery in Cologne and Printed Matter in New York, Marx is an artist in demand.
