What Happens on Countertop Installation Day in Redding

Countertop installation day in a Redding kitchen

Booking new counters is easy. Knowing what the actual install looks like is what puts most Redding homeowners at ease. Here is how a normal installation day runs, stage by stage, so nothing catches you off guard when the crew pulls up.

Before the Truck Arrives

By installation day the hard measuring is already done. We laser templated your cabinets on an earlier visit, confirmed the sink model and edge profile, and fabricated the pieces off site. Clear the counters the night before, empty the sink base cabinet, and give the crew a clean path from the driveway to the kitchen. If you are choosing between surfaces, our quartz countertops page breaks down the low-maintenance option.

The Morning Tear Out

The crew arrives on a set window, lays down floor protection, and disconnects the sink and cooktop as needed. The old tops come out first, and we haul them away. This part is quick, usually under an hour for a single kitchen, though older adhesive near Placer Street homes can add a little time.

Dry Fit and Seam

Next the new pieces come in for a dry fit. We check the overhang, confirm the seam falls where we planned, and shim for a dead level set across cabinets that have settled over the years. Seams on quartz and quartzite are color matched and pulled tight, then bonded so the joint nearly disappears.

Sink, Edges, and Set

With the fit confirmed, we mount the undermount sink, run the final edge polish if needed, and set the tops permanently. Faucet and drain get reconnected, and every joint to the wall and backsplash gets a clean bead of silicone. Natural granite or quartzite is sealed before we leave.

The Walk Through

Before we pack up, we walk the finished kitchen with you, point out how to care for the surface, and answer any questions. Most single kitchens across the 96002 and 96003 ZIP codes are done in one day, and you can use the counter that evening.
